• Consultant Radiologist guided ultrasound 
  
• Ultrasound guided needle biopsy with immediate results from our on-site laboratory
  
• A second consultation with your Consultant Breast Surgeon to discuss your results and start any treatment that may be necessary
  
• Walk-in, screening mammograms (with immediate results if done through the One-Stop Clinic).

A very exclusive screening mammography service

Many women are referred to the Harley Street Breast Clinic by their GPs or their Gynaecologists for routine screening mammograms using the clinic's state-of-the-art digital mammography equipment. The Harley Street Breast Clinic offers a walk in service for screening mammograms, or you can to call for an appointment. You do not need a letter from a doctor as you can refer yourself. Screening mammograms are available to all women over 40, as long as you have not had a mammogram within one year. Younger women with a family history of breast cancer may be advised to have a mammogram at an earlier age. This will require a request from a GP or Specialist, or she may prefer to attend a one stop clinic for further advice from a Consultant Breast Surgeon.

Breast cancer second opinions

If you are unsure about your breast cancer treatment they can arrange a second opinion and review of your treatment with one of Harley Street’s top specialists. If your main concern is your chemotherapy, radiotherapy, reconstructive surgery or gene testing let them know, and they will make you an appointment with a leading consultant in that field. Alternatively if you want an overall review of your treatment, they can arrange that as well.

Breast cancer gene testing

Although most breast cancer is not caused by genetic changes, about 10% of patients in the UK have other family members who have had the disease. In theses cases genetics are often a part of the cause of the cancer. Gene testing requires only a blood test and can help in accurately assessing your own breast cancer risk. The results are discussed with you by their Consultant Cancer Geneticist.

Plastic Cancer Reconstructive Surgery and Cosmetic Breast Surgery

The Harley Street Breast Clinic's Plastic Surgical team is headed by Mr David Ross (Guy’s & St.Thomas’ Hospitals). Mr Ross has considerable experience in improving the appearance of the breast after successful breast cancer surgery.

They encourage most women undergoing mastectomy to have an immediate breast reconstruction carried out during the same operation. Mr Ross and his team use the latest reconstructive techniques to provide the very best cosmetic outcomes. 

The Harley Street Breast Clinic has a close relationship to the world famous Breast Plastic Reconstructive Surgeon Dr Phiilip Blondeel and can arrange appointments at his clinic in Switzerland. His particular area of excellence is reconstruction for bilateral prophylactive mastectomy.
