NOVO by Immogenics
“NOVO is an exciting test for food sensitivity. It interprets real-time reactions from over 4 million leucocytes as they initiate all their immune responses, rather than measuring just one of the outcomes of that response, such as serum levels of anti-food IgG antibodies. The NOVO programme stands out as a truly unique approach to detection of food sensitivity, weight and health management " - Sarah Brewer, Medical Advisor for Immogenics and Healthcare Journalist
I think I have a food allergy but not sure?
If you had a true food allergy you’d know. True Allergic reactions to foods vary in severity and can be potentially fatal. In food allergy the immune system typically produces immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies to the allergen, which trigger other cells to release substances that cause inflammation. Allergic reactions are usually localised to a particular part of the body and symptoms may include asthma, eczema, flushing and swelling of tissues (e.g. the lips) or difficulty in breathing. A severe reaction may result in anaphylaxis (as with severe peanut allergy) in which there is a rapid fall in blood pressure and severe shock.
Food allergy is relatively rare, affecting an estimated 1-2% of children and less than 1% of adults, and is often wrongly used as a general term for adverse reactions to food.A staggering 45 per cent are affected by food related sensitivity or intolerance at any point in their life. Not surprising that food sensitivity can contribute to a whole range of health and weight issues.
