Product profile

  • Scope aims to provide added protection for medical travelers. It covers specified additional expenses incurred in the destination country arising from medical complications of the treatment. This policy protects you during and after your treatment for the duration of your stay in the destination country

  • It does not cover areas that a normal travel policy would cover

     

Note

  • The policy only covers treatment in internationally accredited hospitals accredited by Joint Commission International(JCI)

  • It does not accept other national or international accreditors, so you need to check that the clinic or hospital that you are attending is accredited by JCI

  • You must declare that you are medically fit both to travel to the destination country for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment, and to undergo the medical treatment

  • Age 21 to 69

  • UK residents

  • Worldwide residents  of more than 230 countries

  • Medical travellers

  • Those having treatment only in hospitals/clinics accredited by JCI 

 

Not for 

  • USA residents

  • People travelling to the USA for treatment :

  • Are having treatment in any hospital/clinic not accredited by JCI

  

Benefits

  • Covers more than 100 different types of surgery

  • Other surgery may be considered

  • Provides cover even when you have a pre-existing medical condition such as: asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease or kidney disease

 

Covers

  • Protects from the day you arrive at the destination country to the date you depart

  • Specified additional expenses incurred in the destination country arising from medical complications of the treatment

  • Complications means: Any adverse or unexpected result of the medical treatment that necessitates immediate additional medical treatment; Delayed recovery; Death during the medical treatment

  • Additional expenses means additional accommodation costs (including hospital or hotel), medical and travel costs incurred as a result of complications arising from the medical treatment.

  • Policy subject to Singapore law

Cover for the medical treatment or procedure for which your trip is planned

 

Options

  • Option 1: To have an added 60 days protection in your country of residence

  • Option 2: To reimburse certain legal expenses relating to medical malpractice claims that you bring against a medical institution or medical practitioner within 12 months

  • Platinum or Titanium levels of benefit

 

Note

This company is not authorised in the UK by the Financial Services Authority, so customers have no protection under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
