NHS dental charges

The NHS offers  treatment  to keep your teeth healthy, including emergency treatment. It does not include cosmetic treatment.

In England, a check-up and clean costs £17; fillings and root canal work cost £47 and you can expect to be charged around £204 for crowns, dentures and bridges.

NHS dental treatment is free if you  are pregnant or on Income Support. It is  also free for children.

In Wales, all  check-ups are free, and treatment for over 65s is free too.

Different rules and charges apply in Scotland  and Northern Ireland.
