PruProtect : PruProtect Plan – Income Protection Cover

Description

• Pays a monthly income when you experience a loss of income and due to illness or injury
• Only available if serious illness cover and/or life cover is taken

For 

• Aged 17 to 60
• Employees and self employed at least 5 years before retirement

Not Covered

• HIV/AIDS
• Self inflicted injury
• Unreasonable failure to follow medical advice

Maximum amount payable

• 60% of the first £30,000 of gross earnings
• 50% of £ 30,001 - £294,000 gross earnings

Basis of cover

• Normal occupation
• Limited cover for those not in full time work
• Must advise any change of occupation
• Proportionate cover

Period of cover

• Minimum term 5 years
• Maximum term 54 years
• Cover ends at age 70

• Waiver of premium upon incapacity
• 20% increase for severe disability
