• UK residents

• Aged 18 to 54 with at least five years to go before retirement

• Employees and self -employed

Maximum amount payable

• 70% of first £10000 of gross earnings

• 60% of next £20000 of gross earnings

• 50% of next £120000 of gross earnings

• 40% of gross earnings over £150000

• Overall maximum benefit £3000 a week

Period of cover

• Minimum five years (13 years if increasable benefits option)

• Maximum 40 years

Basis of cover

• Normal occupation

• Limited cover for non-workers and some occupations

• Guaranteed rates
