Short term mortgage and other costs protection should illness or injury prevent you working or you become unemployed.

• Aged 18 to 64

• Employees and the self employed and contract workers
   

Maximum amount payable

• 75% of gross monthly income

• £3000 a month

• Whichever is the lesser

Basis of cover

• Normal occupation

• Benefit paid for up to 12 months

• Health, Employment & Legal Protector (HELP) cover

• Reviewable annually

• Carer cover

• Back to day one cover after 30 days

Not covered

• Pre-existing medical conditions

• Normal pregnancy and childbirth

• Back conditions unless you supply radiological evidence of medical abnormality from a doctor or specialist

• Mental or nervous disorders, including stress and related conditions, unless your condition is diagnosed by a specialist and needs a continued course of treatment
