Every day more than 100 women in Britain are diagnosed with breast cancer†, almost three quarters are under 70 years of age. And beating the disease can be a struggle that takes its toll physically, emotionally and financially.

 

According to Macmillan Cancer Support, one in four cancer patients admit having difficulty keeping up with their payments.

A spokesman for Macmillan Cancer Support said 'Our work with cancer patients shows that many of them suffer real financial hardship at a time when they need to be able to concentrate on getting better'.
 
This is why AIG Direct has created the WellWoman Plan. It covers seven female cancers including breast, cervical and ovarian cancer, paying out up to £25,000 upon diagnosis (or up to £50,000 with Premier Cover)+ to help you and your family financially so you can concentrate on getting better.
 
 
The WellWoman Plan pays you up to £25,000 upon diagnosis of a cancer in one or both breasts, one or both ovaries, one or both fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, vagina or vulva. Together, these account for more than 40% of cancers in women in the UK.†
 
Pre-existing conditions are not covered, but there is no medical examination, no awkward health questions and no exclusions due to family history. And claims can be made just 90 days after taking out your Plan.

The WellWoman Plan Covers 7 female-specific cancers

 
Your benefits would start immediately when we receive confirmation of diagnosis of cancer:
 
For females of:
  • one or both breasts
  • the cervix
  • one or both ovaries
  • the uterus
  • the vagina
  • the vulva
  • one or both fallopian tubes
 
 
 
For males of:
  • one or both breasts
  • one or both testes
 
  • penis
  • prostate

Please note that this product does not cover cancers you have had before or those due to any pre-existing medical conditions or cancer diagnosed within the first 90 days of your policy.
 
Please note the £25,000 diagnosis benefit is only available after the policy has been in force for 90 days. Should you be diagnosed with a covered cancer in the first 90 days, we will pay you £50 for each day you are in hospital.
