How to choose a clinic for non-surgical cosmetic treatment

The Private Healthcare UK guide to non-surgical cosmetic treatments contains a number of articles explaining the treatments available, the science behind them and why they are a viable alternative to some of the popular cosmetic surgery procedures.  The guide has been provided by one of the UK’s leading non-surgical cosmetic clinics, SkinGenesis.

  • Reputable non-surgical clinics will be registered with the Healthcare Commission. The registration process involves an annual audit and inspection by the Healthcare Commission. These clinics will have stringent policies and protocols to ensure your safety, confidentiality and well being.
  • A good clinic will stand by the claims for its treatments. Make sure that you will get the cosmetic changes you are looking for by asking for a guarantee at the time of consultation, before you start treatments.
  • Beware of hidden costs. By their very nature, non-surgical treatments should have no hidden costs – no anaesthetic costs, no overnight stay or private hospital costs, and no time off work for recovery. However, ablative peels may result in some down time.
  • Sympathetic staff. The clinic should recognise that undertaking any cosmetic treatment is a big step for you, the client. Clinics that are managed by registered nurses who are trained to understand your needs and offer free advice are best placed to ensure a good experience.
  • Free consultations. You need answers to all your questions before you go ahead with a treatment. Some clinics charge for consultation but this is an unnecessary barrier to you getting the information you need. Choose a clinic that offers free consultations
