Laser eye surgery

LASIK, laser in-situ keratomileusis, issued to correct vision in people who are nearsighted, farsighted, or have astigmatism. LASIK uses a femtosecond laser to create a thin flap in the cornea, the cornea is then pealed back and the underlying tissue reshaped such that light can be properly focused onto the retina. This procedure is performed under a local anaesthetic and takes around ten minutes, and patients generally recover from all side effect after a few days.
